You will lead safety development activities for assigned vehicle programs to meet functional objectives and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead safety development, including target setting and vehicle-level test plan execution for crash regulatory and third-party ratings.
Own safety performance during vehicle integration and validation, leading attribute teams and supporting safety tech clubs.
Investigate vehicle issues to determine root causes and lead cross-functional teams through documentation and resolution.
Manage physical and component testing from concept through launch, including vehicle build, pre-test preparation, and CAE virtual validation assessments.
Required Skills
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Three years of vehicle development experience and one year of safety development experience.
Knowledge of domestic and global vehicle regulatory and third-party requirements.
Ability to guide vehicle design through virtual analysis and physical testing.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Durability, Safety, NVH, and Aero.
Proficiency in CATIA, NX, or TC.
Experience with Hypergraph.
Capability to summarize and present technical results and recommendations.
Willingness to travel to Chelsea Proving Grounds.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of vehicle structures, fundamental physics, and structural engineering principles.
Experience in laboratory environments, design release, CAE, or hands-on crashworthiness.
Expertise in data/film analysis and advanced simulation techniques.
