Description

You will lead safety development activities for assigned vehicle programs to meet functional objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety development, including target setting and vehicle-level test plan execution for crash regulatory and third-party ratings.
• Own safety performance during vehicle integration and validation, leading attribute teams and supporting safety tech clubs.
• Investigate vehicle issues to determine root causes and lead cross-functional teams through documentation and resolution.
• Manage physical and component testing from concept through launch, including vehicle build, pre-test preparation, and CAE virtual validation assessments.

Required Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Three years of vehicle development experience and one year of safety development experience.
• Knowledge of domestic and global vehicle regulatory and third-party requirements.
• Ability to guide vehicle design through virtual analysis and physical testing.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Durability, Safety, NVH, and Aero.
• Proficiency in CATIA, NX, or TC.
• Experience with Hypergraph.
• Capability to summarize and present technical results and recommendations.
• Willingness to travel to Chelsea Proving Grounds.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of vehicle structures, fundamental physics, and structural engineering principles.
• Experience in laboratory environments, design release, CAE, or hands-on crashworthiness.
• Expertise in data/film analysis and advanced simulation techniques.
