Description
You will maintain the integrity of the client's Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and support Software Asset Management (SAM) initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Add, edit, and maintain Configuration Items (CIs) to reflect the current state of the client estate.
- Define relationships between CIs to map dependencies, build service maps, and support infrastructure understanding.
- Manage Discovery schedules to ensure full coverage and verify that discovered data is accurate and complete.
- Own the manual process for non-discoverable items, such as mobile devices, ensuring they are tracked in the CMDB.
- Collaborate with the SAM team to replicate Software Asset Management elements within the CMDB for public IT use.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow, specifically in CMDB and SAM modules.
- Proven ability to create and maintain complex CI relationships and service maps.
- Experience managing Discovery schedules and ensuring data accuracy across various CI types.
- Strong understanding of Software Asset Management principles and their integration with ITSM.
- Ability to work with stakeholders on Service Improvement Programmes and Service Catalogue management.
- Experience maintaining data health and resolving issues proactively to prevent customer impact.
