Description

You will design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services using Scala, owning the end-to-end lifecycle from development to testing and deployment.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement REST APIs leveraging Scala for high-performance backend services.
• Own the end-to-end understanding, quality, and testing of all assigned services.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to build, manage, and deploy infrastructure using cloud technologies.
• Implement and optimize caching architectures, specifically using Memcached.
• Maintain system observability and monitoring using tools like Splunk, Instana, DataDog, and Prometheus.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Scala.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Istio, and Argo.
• Strong experience with monitoring and logging tools: Splunk, Instana, DataDog, or Prometheus.
• Experience implementing CI/CD automation using Jenkins or GitLab.
• Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of software security principles and patterns.
• Strong understanding of Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
