Description

Lead technology projects and a team of developers focused on immutable, distributed systems and backend Scala-based solutions.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of technology projects using functional programming to meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.
• Mentor engineering community members and participate in technology communities.
• Code and evaluate code as required by project needs.
• Work directly with business stakeholders and customers to define software direction.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in globally distributed teams.
• Proficiency in Scala and Java programming languages.
• Hands-on experience with big-data technologies including Spark, Databricks, and Hadoop/ADLS.
• Experience building data lakes and data pipelines in the cloud using Azure and Databricks.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, specifically SQS and Lambda.
• Experience with cloud serverless technologies on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency with Unix command line tools.
• Strong database, data analysis, and functional programming skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.

Preferred Skills

• Spark Developer certification from Databricks, MAPR, Cloudera, or Hortonworks.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, or Node.js.
• Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework.
