Description

You will design, develop, and deploy scalable backend applications using Scala, owning the full lifecycle from architecture to production support.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain microservices and distributed systems using Scala, Akka, and Play Framework.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and third-party services, including event-driven architectures via Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Write clean, efficient code following engineering best practices, participating in code reviews and technical design sessions.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and fault tolerance while troubleshooting production issues.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD automation and cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Scala and functional programming libraries such as Cats, ZIO, and FS2.
• Strong understanding of reactive programming, concurrent/asynchronous systems, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with distributed event-driven systems and system documentation.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
