Description

You will develop scalable backend software within an agile product team.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, configure, and test programs and systems using Scala and Java.
• Evaluate and implement design solutions to improve software cost, quality, and performance.
• Analyze assignments to define software specifications needed to meet objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure features align with business needs.
• Mentor junior software engineers on the team.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Scala.
• Profound insight into Scala internals, including class loading, memory management, concurrency, futures, and multithreading.
• Experience building low-latency, high-volume, distributed, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
• Experience developing applications running in an AWS environment.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Experience participating in Agile development.
• Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
• Strong verbal communication skills capable of explaining technical thought processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Cats Effect, Http4s, Fs2, or Akka.
• Experience with Spring.
