Job Summary

We are looking for a Scala Developer with strong database development experience and knowledge of Java technologies. The candidate will work on application development, database enhancements, and software modernization projects. The role requires working with global teams in an Agile environment and contributing to modern development practices.

Responsibilities:

*  Develop and maintain database-driven applications

* Work closely with cross-functional and global teams

*  Support software modernization and migration activities

*  Participate in Agile development processes and code reviews

*  Troubleshoot and resolve application and database issues

*  Contribute to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Skills Required:

* Strong experience in RDBMS, SQL, and hands-on DB2 database development.

*  Experience with Java EE, Spring, Gradle, and exposure to Scala development.

*  Knowledge of ETL processes, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Linux/Windows development environments.

* Familiarity with Agile SDLC methodologies, BDD/TDD practices, and modern development tools including VS Code and GitHub Copilot.

* Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities with a willingness to learn new technologies and support modernization initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

*  Experience with Python or other scripting languages

*  Experience in the financial services industry

*  Familiarity with JIRA and Agile ceremonies

*  Knowledge of Jenkins

*  Understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Lake reporting concepts
