Description

You will build and maintain high-performance backend systems using Scala and the JVM ecosystem. You will own the design, implementation, and deployment of microservices, ensuring strong typing, efficient concurrency, and robust error handling.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Scala, focusing on object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.
• Implement advanced functional concepts including category theory, monads, applicatives, and type classes.
• Build applications using Typelevel libraries such as Cats and Shapeless for strong typing and concurrency.
• Deploy and manage backend infrastructure on AWS, ensuring security and compliance.
• Conduct code reviews, optimize performance, and debug complex issues in distributed systems.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Scala backend development.
• Deep proficiency in Scala, JVM ecosystem, and functional programming concepts.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services for deployment and management.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with Docker containerization.
• Knowledge of multithreading and efficient concurrency patterns.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Shapeless and advanced Typelevel libraries.
• Background in system design and architectural discussions.
• Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable code.
