Description

You will design and build reactive, event-driven systems using functional programming in Scala.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Architect solutions for new features, evaluating technology alternatives, system impacts, and tradeoffs.
• Lead technical design and delivery of complex features across multiple integrated systems.
• Contribute to system design, security, scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
• Support build and deployment pipelines and diagnose production support issues.
• Identify cross-team dependencies and communicate project risks to technical leadership.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Scala and functional programming.
• Experience with Akka, Akka Streams, and the actor model.
• Knowledge of reactive/event-driven systems architecture.
• Experience with web service frameworks such as Play or Spring.
• Experience with messaging systems like Azure Event Hubs or Kafka.
• Experience with Cassandra or other big data database implementations.
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark or R.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Preferred Skills

• DevOps experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, or Docker.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React or Angular.
