Scrum Master

Facilitate Agile ceremonies and remove impediments to keep the team effective. Translate product needs into requirements and support backlog management. Track metrics, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, Sprint Demos, Story Refinement, and Release Planning.
• Aid the Product Owner in managing the product backlog, prioritizing items based on changing requirements and timelines.
• Protect the team from outside interruptions, anticipate challenges, and identify risks with mitigation solutions.
• Track and report team velocity and project metrics to foster a high-performing Agile culture.
• Ensure the team adheres to core Agile principles, VSP Agile standards, and maintains a Lean-Agile mindset.

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of practical experience serving as a Scrum Master.
• Thorough understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle and hands-on experience with development teams.
• CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification is required.
• Ability to identify cross-team dependencies and align work optimally.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills with proven servant leadership.
• Ability to set clear performance standards, hold team members accountable, and resolve conflicts positively.
• Ability to analyze and document business and system processes.
• Experience balancing competing demands for quality, scope, and schedule.

Preferred Skills

• PSM (Professional Scrum Master) certification.
• Ability to work with customers, understand their business practices, and manage expectations.
