Description

You will act as the API Security Subject Matter Expert, implementing secure patterns and managing API security infrastructure.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage API security using Cloudflare.
• Design and document secure API design patterns in collaboration with API teams.
• Assess and secure APIs aligning with OWASP and relevant security standards.
• Inspect API traffic by handling decryption for security analysis (e.g., mTLS, TLS 1.3).

Required Skills

• 10+ years of relevant experience in IT Security.
• Hands-on experience implementing API security within Cloudflare.
• Proficiency in API management platforms, specifically MuleSoft and Apigee.
• Deep understanding of cryptography concepts (hashing, signing, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, decryption).
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (routing, DNS, common ports, protocols, firewalls).
• Experience assessing and securing APIs against OWASP standards.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or CIS CSC.
• Understanding of core IT components including Secure LDAP, load balancing, and Federated Identity.
