Description

You split your time equally between Linux/system-level security and cloud security. You will improve the security posture of infrastructure and cloud environments, respond to alerts, and investigate incidents. You will evaluate cloud architectures for security concerns, consult on mitigations, and build infrastructure for security-related applications. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive design decisions and advocate for security improvements.

Responsibilities

• Improve the security posture of infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Respond to infrastructure security alerts and perform investigations.
• Evaluate cloud architectures for security concerns and consult on mitigation options.
• Build and manage infrastructure for security-related applications and services.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive design decisions and advocate for security improvements.

Required Skills

• 12-15 years of experience in infrastructure and security.
• 8+ years in security roles, including 3+ years securing cloud platforms (IAM, VPC Security, KMS).
• 3+ years hardening Linux environments (PAM, SELinux, SSHD, auditd).
• 6+ years working with IaC or configuration management (Terraform, Puppet).
• Knowledge of basic cryptography and common network protocols.
• Basic understanding of containers and Kubernetes.
• Ability to review platform changes, research risks, and support application teams with infrastructure-level security.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience securing large GCP environments.
• Experience with HIDS, NIDS, SIEM, SOAR, or XDR solutions.
• Experience with secrets management or PKI tooling (HashiCorp Vault).
• CISSP, GCP/AWS Cloud Security Engineer, or similar certifications.
• Experience with SQL and securing databases like MySQL or Snowflake.
