Description

This role owns the security posture of AI/ML systems through rigorous compliance and technical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on NIST Special Publication 800-53 controls and the end-to-end NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Lead and manage the entire Authorities to Operate (ATO) process for systems, from initial assessment through accreditation.
  • Develop and maintain critical security documentation, including the System Security Plan (SSP) and Security Assessment Report (SAR).
  • Partner with AI/ML engineers to embed security into the AI development lifecycle (AISecOps) and perform threat modeling.
  • Design and implement security architecture across cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises environments.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering or analyst roles.
  • Expert-level experience with the NIST RMF and successfully achieving ATO for federal or DoD systems.
  • Deep understanding of NIST 800-53 (Rev 4 or 5) security controls.
  • Strong technical background in cloud security using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency with security tools, including Tenable, Splunk, and Wiz.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct security control assessments and gap analyses.
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines.
