Description

You will serve as the designated IT Security Officer responsible for protecting electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and State of Mississippi Enterprise Security Policy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain agency-specific security plans, policies, and procedures.
• Act as the primary contact for the Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) regarding security issues.
• Monitor security applications, activity logs, and resources using approved software and hardware.
• Manage the agency's vulnerability management and supply chain risk programs.
• Facilitate State Auditor Information Systems Audits and third-party risk assessments.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification.
• Certified HIPAA Professional (CHP) certification.
• Technical experience with Patch/Vulnerability Management.
• Technical experience with EDR/XDR and Microsoft Defender 365.
• Technical experience with Supply Chain Monitoring.
• Technical experience with SIEM/SOAR.
• Ability to work onsite one full week per month with occasional travel.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with governmental data modernization or project management.
• AI/ML development experience in cybersecurity initiatives such as next-generation firewalls, threat hunting, or cyber risk.
