Description
Key Skills: SQL, Excel, VBA, RMS RiskLink, AIR Touchstone, CoreLogic RQE, Catastrophe Modelling, Risk Analytics, ArcGIS, Data Analysis
Good to Have Skills: Experience with iFM, WorkFlowManager, SpatialKey mapping tools, financial modelling, insurance and reinsurance terms understanding, treaty coding knowledge, sensitivity analysis, geocoding techniques, and proprietary Gallagher models. Familiarity with natural catastrophe risk assessment and peril analysis would be beneficial.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, clean and scrub data for analysis using tools like SQL and Excel for catastrophe risk assessment.
- Analyse risk exposures by geocoding data, applying modelling assumptions and setting up catastrophe models with correct parameters.
- Use leading catastrophe models including RMS RiskLink, AIR Touchstone and CoreLogic RQE to estimate potential losses from natural disasters.
- Generate detailed reports and visualisations using tools like iFM, WorkFlowManager, SpatialKey and ArcGIS to present key insights.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses to understand how changes in inputs affect model outputs and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with onshore analysts to ensure client satisfaction, discuss progress and meet project goals effectively.
- Support senior team members on complex projects and take the lead on simpler to medium-complexity renewals independently.
- Lead small to medium-complexity renewal projects independently, typically lasting 2-4 weeks with multiple stakeholders.
- Create maps and visualisations to present catastrophe risk insights and answer natural catastrophe-related queries using internal tools.
- Stay updated on evolving models, tools and technologies while adapting to dynamic project requirements in fast-paced environments.
Experience Required: 2-4 years of experience in catastrophe modelling or related field with minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering
