Description

You will design, install, and oversee special purpose machines and line-automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling from sketches or verbal concepts and perform engineering calculations for strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, and force.
• Assist fabricators, machinists, toolmakers, and electricians with debugging, integration, and system troubleshooting.
• Review electrical requirements for input and output devices alongside electrical designers.
• Organize project documentation including quotes, drawing registers, correspondence, requisitions, and schedules.
• Ensure all designs and processes strictly follow CSA N285, NQA Quality, CSA B51, and CSA N285.0 requirements.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer.
• 8+ years of experience with common machine shop techniques.
• 3+ years of experience within the manufacturing automation domain.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Thorough knowledge of drafting principles.
• Practical experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Experience working with electrical devices such as switches, load cells, and LVDTs.

• Any Graduate degree.
