You will design, install, and oversee special purpose machines and line-automation systems.
Responsibilities
Design tooling from sketches or verbal concepts and perform engineering calculations for strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, and force.
Assist fabricators, machinists, toolmakers, and electricians with debugging, integration, and system troubleshooting.
Review electrical requirements for input and output devices alongside electrical designers.
Organize project documentation including quotes, drawing registers, correspondence, requisitions, and schedules.
Ensure all designs and processes strictly follow CSA N285, NQA Quality, CSA B51, and CSA N285.0 requirements.
Required Skills
7+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer.
8+ years of experience with common machine shop techniques.
3+ years of experience within the manufacturing automation domain.
6+ years of hands-on experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Thorough knowledge of drafting principles.
Practical experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
Experience working with electrical devices such as switches, load cells, and LVDTs.
