Description

Design and build large-scale patching automation solutions for enterprise infrastructure.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated patching frameworks for Oracle (RAC & Exadata), SQL Server, IBM Db2, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra.
• Develop end-to-end patching pipelines covering version discovery, pre/post checks, compliance validation, and reporting.
• Build and maintain automation workflows using Rundeck, Ansible, Terraform, MFO, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Create and maintain reusable automation frameworks and scripts using Python and Shell/PowerShell.
• Integrate patching automation with service management (ServiceNow preferred), monitoring, and change control workflows.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience implementing automation solutions from design to production.
• Expert proficiency with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories) and Rundeck for job orchestration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and Shell scripting (Bash) or PowerShell.
• Proven experience automating patching solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated capability with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
• Familiarity with enterprise databases including Oracle, SQL Server, Db2, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience integrating workflows with monitoring and scheduling tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex automation failures and optimize existing processes.
