Description

You will design and maintain enterprise-grade Java and Spring Boot backend services, REST APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven integrations for mission-critical operational workflows. You own the full lifecycle from database optimization and cloud deployment to technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement performant backend services using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring strict adherence to security and observability standards.
• Lead the development of Kafka-based event-driven architectures, managing topics, partitions, and messaging workflows.
• Optimize PostgreSQL database models, complex queries, and indexing strategies for high-throughput applications.
• Deploy cloud-native applications on AWS (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway) and contribute to CI/CD automation pipelines.
• Perform rigorous code reviews, mentor developers, and partner with Product Owners and Architects in an Agile environment.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications with Java.
• 5+ years focused on Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservice architectures.
• 3+ years of deep, hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including event-driven and domain-driven design patterns.
• Proven track record with PostgreSQL database design, advanced SQL optimization, and query tuning.
• Solid experience with AWS services, including ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps workflows using Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, and SonarQube.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in transportation, railroad, or logistics industries.
• Familiarity with frontend architectures like Angular.
• Experience with Schema Registry/Avro or enterprise security knowledge (OAuth2/OIDC, Azure Entra ID).
