Description

You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of highly available backend services in a microservices environment, managing a team of 4-6 developers.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend applications and reusable components.
• Manage team hiring, training, 1-on-1s, and career planning for 4-6 engineers.
• Own project delivery and technical decision-making regarding system performance and reliability.
• Conduct code reviews and lead quality efforts through unit and integration testing.
• Manage weekly on-call processes, debugging, and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a backend engineer in microservices environments.
• Proficiency in Java and building RESTful services with Spring/SpringBoot.
• Experience with relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Exposure to public clouds including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with event streaming platforms like Kafka.
• Familiarity with caching technologies like Redis or Hazelcast.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as NewRelic, Prometheus, PagerDuty, or ELK.
• Strong command of Data Structures, Algorithms, and system design.

Preferred Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
