You will own the backend architecture for a core product vertical, driving it from design through delivery and ongoing optimization.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Take complete ownership of backend architecture for one core product vertical, from design to delivery to ongoing optimization.
• Design and build APIs using Python frameworks that power web and mobile applications.
• Build and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, implementing containerization and orchestration.
• Establish engineering best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and testing strategies.
• Mentor 2-3 junior engineers while remaining hands-on with critical feature development.

Required Skills

• 5+ years building and shipping production backend systems, including scaling from 0 to 1.
• Strong expertise in Python backend frameworks (FastAPI/Django/Flask).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in production.
• Strong background in API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including deployment and security.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MongoDB for complex data modeling.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and setting up monitoring/observability.
• Proven track record leading and mentoring junior engineers in a hands-on capacity.
