You will build high-performance, responsive backend systems for an analytical product team.

Responsibilities

• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code for low-latency, high-availability applications.
• Design and implement scalable application architectures and event-driven systems.
• Integrate user-facing elements and front-end components into the backend.
• Implement security protocols and data protection measures across multiple environments.
• Mentor a small engineering team on best practices and code quality.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of IT experience with 5 years focused on Python.
• In-depth knowledge of Flask and FastAPI frameworks.
• Experience with event-driven programming in Python.
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into a single system.
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization across distributed systems.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles for scalable applications.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, or Mercurial.
• Understanding of optimizing output for different delivery platforms like mobile and desktop.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or any Graduate level qualification.

Preferred Skills

• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
