Description

You will design and implement backend services driven by R&D research efforts.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test backend services and new product components.
• Optimize backend performance by refining database access patterns and schemas.
• Modularize backend architecture to improve service composability and observability.
• Improve infrastructure resilience through load testing and staged service interruption methods.
• Perform bug qualification and release testing.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software development experience with a BS (or 3 years with an MS, or 1 year with a PhD).
• Proficiency in Python, Postgres, RabbitMQ, and Redis.
• Deep knowledge of database fundamentals, including indexes and ORMs.
• Experience with asynchronous architectures and long-running jobs.
• Familiarity with message exchanges, queues, and event-oriented architectures.
• Experience working with scalable, clustered, and data-intensive architectures.
• Ability to work within a geographically distributed team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Rust or Elixir.
• Knowledge of data pipelines and managing associated bottlenecks.
