Description

You will own the maintenance and testing of complex databases and Tier-1 data-driven applications for specific business units.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complex databases and Tier-1 data-driven applications under strict SLA and 24/7 uptime requirements.
• Manage data pipelines by aggregating and transforming raw data from various sources.
• Optimize data delivery and redesign processes to improve performance and big data management.
• Process data in parallel on top of distributed Hadoop storage using MapReduce.
• Provide application and database support with minimal supervision.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience maintaining applications utilizing Java, J2EE, SDLC, and WebSphere.
• 6+ years of recent experience working for a major US bank or brokerage house.
• 6+ years of experience with Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, Apache Spark, HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Flume, Sqoop, and ZooKeeper.
• 6+ years of experience developing on RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• 6+ years of experience maintaining Tier-1 data-driven applications.
• 5+ years of programming in Scala, Java, Python, or Go.
• 5+ years of development on Hadoop and Spark.
• Experience with SOA design principles and managing datasets exceeding 20 million records.
• Exposure to data hygiene routines and models.

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of distributed storage and processing architectures.
