Key Responsibilities
Healthcare Interoperability & Data Integration
Analyze, map, and validate healthcare data using FHIR R4 and HL7 standards.
Support interoperability initiatives involving Patient Access APIs, Provider Access APIs, payer-to-payer data exchange, and related healthcare data-sharing programs.
Validate API transactions, data exchanges, and interoperability workflows using industry-standard tools.
Collaborate with technical teams to support compliance with healthcare interoperability regulations and standards.
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
Translate business needs into functional specifications, data mapping documents, API requirements, and process workflows.
Conduct impact analyses, gap assessments, and system evaluations.
Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and business process documentation.
Data Quality & Testing
Support end-to-end testing of data integrations, APIs, and interoperability solutions.
Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across multiple systems.
Partner with development and QA teams to ensure successful implementation and compliance.
Documentation & Governance
Create and maintain data dictionaries, business rules, mapping specifications, and standard operating procedures.
Support data governance, metadata management, and data quality initiatives.
Document system processes, workflows, and integration requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with business users, technical teams, architects, and external partners.
Facilitate discussions, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions.
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Data Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting data integration, interoperability, healthcare technology, or related initiatives.
Strong understanding of:
FHIR R4
HL7 standards
RESTful APIs
SQL
JSON
Data mapping and transformation processes
ELT/ETL methodologies
Experience creating source-to-target mappings and documenting business and technical requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with healthcare interoperability platforms such as SmileCDR, HAPI FHIR, or similar solutions.
Knowledge of healthcare interoperability regulations and industry initiatives.
Experience working with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka, Confluent, or Apache Flink.
Familiarity with data observability, lineage, and monitoring platforms.
Experience with modern data lakehouse technologies and analytics platforms.
Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and analytics engineering.
Relevant certifications in Business Analysis, Healthcare Interoperability, Data Engineering, or Cloud Technologies
