Description

Design and implement IT architecture for application migrations and AWS cloud implementations across state agencies.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available systems using load balancing and horizontal scalability.
• Architect applications for cloud environments using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Lead full-lifecycle application modernization and migration efforts.
• Identify optimal cloud architecture options to meet strategic organizational goals.
• Manage stakeholder relationships to reach consensus on complex technical solutions.

Required Skills

• 10+ years overall IT experience with 5+ years in enterprise full-lifecycle architecture.
• 5+ years hands-on technical application architecture and modernization experience.
• 5+ years experience with AWS/Public Cloud solution architecture and design.
• 5 years experience with private, public, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS/PaaS).
• 7 years experience in design, development, and deployment of application software at scale.
• 3 years experience specifically handling cloud migrations.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and HTTP/S.
• Experience with RDBMS technologies including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Postgres.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, security, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience with GCP, OCI, or Azure.
• Experience with state and local government environments.
