Description

You will lead the migration of on-premises Oracle and SQL Server databases to AWS RDS and manage the conversion of specific databases to PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of on-premises Oracle and SQL Server databases to AWS RDS.
• Convert select databases from Oracle and SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Develop and execute migration strategies, including planning, design, and implementation.
• Collaborate with the in-house database support team to transfer knowledge and ensure environment maintainability.
• Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and ensure data integrity and security throughout the migration process.
• Develop technical specifications for cloud computing environments and assess product compatibility for integrated architecture.

Required Skills

• Proven experience migrating on-premises databases to AWS RDS.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with AWS Database Migration Service and Schema Conversion Tool.
• Experience with AWS services including IAM, EC2, S3, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Technical skills in Python, Bash, and Powershell.
• Ability to perform technical planning and architecture development.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Certified Database – Specialty.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
