Description

Define and own cloud database architecture on Google Cloud Platform while leading AI/GenAI enablement for database services.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and optimize multi-engine GCP database solutions including Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, BigQuery, and Firestore.
• Lead AI/GenAI enablement for databases, implementing Gemini Enterprise, MCP patterns, and intelligent automation.
• Establish metadata governance, data discoverability, and compliance using Dataplex and Knowledge Catalog.
• Apply SRE and performance engineering practices to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while collaborating with platform, data, and AI teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in cloud database or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform databases (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, BigQuery, Firestore).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Proven expertise embedding AI/GenAI capabilities, specifically Gemini Enterprise and MCP patterns.
• Experience with metadata governance tools such as Dataplex and Knowledge Catalog.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
