Manage the lifecycle and administration of Kubernetes EKS clusters to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Administer multiple EKS clusters, performing patches, upgrades, and component improvements.
- Troubleshoot and triage issues involving EC2, VPC networking, DNS, and storage.
- Identify and remediate Kubernetes vulnerabilities while recommending cost-saving options.
- Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams on AWS infrastructure requests.
- Lead and mentor junior team members while participating in a shared on-call rotation.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure design and implementation.
- 2+ years of experience administering EKS Kubernetes clusters in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, ECS, ELB, RDS, EFS, EBS, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, and S3.
- Proficiency in AWS CloudFormation using YAML or JSON.
- Experience with container platforms such as EKS, ECS, and Fargate.
- Ability to script in Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Experience managing Linux and Windows-based systems.
- Proficiency with GitHub and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with systems monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies.
