Description

Manage the lifecycle and administration of Kubernetes EKS clusters to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Administer multiple EKS clusters, performing patches, upgrades, and component improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and triage issues involving EC2, VPC networking, DNS, and storage.
  • Identify and remediate Kubernetes vulnerabilities while recommending cost-saving options.
  • Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams on AWS infrastructure requests.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members while participating in a shared on-call rotation.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure design and implementation.
  • 2+ years of experience administering EKS Kubernetes clusters in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, ECS, ELB, RDS, EFS, EBS, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, and S3.
  • Proficiency in AWS CloudFormation using YAML or JSON.
  • Experience with container platforms such as EKS, ECS, and Fargate.
  • Ability to script in Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Experience managing Linux and Windows-based systems.
  • Proficiency with GitHub and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with systems monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Active involvement in the Kubernetes and AWS communities.
