Overview

Seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a small, high-impact infrastructure team supporting enterprise cloud operations and modernization initiatives.
This role is replacing a senior engineer and requires someone who can step in immediately with strong Azure expertise, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, security, and enterprise infrastructure experience.
Excellent communication skills are critical, as this person will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable Azure cloud infrastructure and enterprise networking solutions.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments using Azure automation technologies.
• Lead Azure migrations, cloud architecture, implementation, and ongoing optimization initiatives.
• Administer Azure services including networking, compute, storage, identity, monitoring, and security.
• Configure and manage Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender suite, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Identity, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
• Support enterprise infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, Intune, SCCM, SCOM, Hyper-V, RDS, Microsoft 365, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Manage routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, wireless infrastructure, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise networking.
• Develop automation, orchestration, monitoring, documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Perform root cause analysis, incident response, performance tuning, cost optimization, and infrastructure improvements.
• Configure IAM, encryption, security policies, access controls, and governance.
• Mentor team members, share technical knowledge, and recommend new technologies and best practices.

Required Skills

• 5+ years supporting enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments.
• 3-5+ years as an Azure Cloud Engineer.
• Strong Azure infrastructure administration and architecture experience.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience (required).
• Azure deployments, migrations, automation, and cloud optimization.
• Windows Server (2008-2022), Active Directory, Intune, SCCM, Hyper-V, RDS, Microsoft 365.
• Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, cloud security, monitoring, and compliance.
• Enterprise networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Backup & Replication.
• Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Azure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.)
• Security+, CCNA, MCSE, or MCSA.
• SQL/database experience.
• REST APIs and web services.
• VoIP experience
