Description

You will own the reliability, infrastructure, and operational support for large distributed applications and their underlying platforms.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain software for platform infrastructure, application monitoring, and production environment management.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
• Analyze OS and application metrics to drive performance tuning and fault finding.
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing, release procedures, and automation.
• Consult on system design, platform management, capacity planning, and defining service level objectives.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 4+ years of structured and object-oriented programming using PowerShell, Shell/Bash, or Python.
• 1+ years of experience with Amazon AWS services (EC2, IAM, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, EBS, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway).
• Experience with Azure native services.
• 1+ years of experience with GIT-based source control, preferably GitHub.
• Experience with Docker containers and automation tools like Puppet or Kickstart.
• Strong understanding of code promotion, build automation, and branching strategies.

Preferred Skills

• 3+ years of software development experience with Java or .NET.
• Experience with load balancers, layer 4/7 load balancing, HAProxy, and tcpdump.
