Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience in COBOL development and maintenance within an IBM mainframe environment.

Practical experience with CICS for online transaction processing and application integration.

Strong knowledge of DB2, including SQL development, data access, query analysis, and troubleshooting.

Experience with IBM MQ for application messaging and system integration.

Mandatory experience in the healthcare or health insurance domain, preferably involving claims processing systems.

Experience in requirements analysis, technical design, coding, debugging, unit testing, and production support.

Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across batch and online processing environments and perform root-cause analysis.

Understanding of mainframe application integration, transaction processing, performance optimization, and system reliability.

Experience with code reviews, coding standards, secure development practices, and change-management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with JCL, VSAM, batch processing, and mainframe scheduling tools.

Exposure to healthcare payer systems and claims processing workflows.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience with source control and mainframe development tools such as Endevor or Changeman
