Description

You will develop, verify, and validate embedded controls software for aerospace propulsion systems, focusing on safety-critical applications.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Implement control logic and supporting software using Matlab/Simulink or SCADE within model-based design workflows.
• Author and maintain software requirements and low-level design documents, ensuring bi-directional traceability in DOORS/DNG or CAMEO.
• Develop and execute requirement-based test procedures, including Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing and MC/DC coverage analysis.
• Support DO-178C compliance activities, including verification artifacts, configuration management, and tool qualification documentation.
• Cause code reviews and branching/merging using GIT while collaborating with systems and test teams to resolve issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development for safety-critical systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or SCADE for control algorithms and auto-coding workflows.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next Gen (DNG), or CAMEO.
• Strong knowledge of GIT for source control, configuration management, and versioning.
• Understanding of model-based design principles and requirement-based testing concepts.
• Ability to author test procedures, execute tests, and perform basic debugging.
• Familiarity with SIL/HIL environments, including test scripting and I/O configuration.
• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DO-178C testing standards on aircraft engines or safety-critical software.
• Familiarity with NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation).
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
