Description

Senior Cypress Automation Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks. You will own the test suite lifecycle, from script creation to CI/CD integration, while mentoring junior engineers and driving quality standards across functional, regression, and API testing scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive automated test scripts using Cypress and TypeScript, ensuring full coverage of functional, regression, and API testing scenarios.
• Implement and maintain end-to-end test automation frameworks that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Conduct API testing with expertise in REST and GraphQL APIs, including validation of payloads, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for database validation testing, data seeding, and backend verification as part of the automation test suite.
• Collaborate with development teams and product managers to translate requirements into test scenarios, identify defects, and troubleshoot CI/CD integration issues.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional experience in QA automation testing.
• Advanced proficiency with Cypress and hands-on experience building and maintaining test suites.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript (first preference) or JavaScript for writing scalable, maintainable test code.
• Proven expertise in REST API testing, including tools like Postman or Thunder Client, with a strong understanding of request-response validation, headers, authentication, and status codes.
• Working knowledge of SQL for writing queries to validate data, seed test data, and perform backend verification.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git/GitHub.
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, and end-to-end testing principles.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding assistants such as Claude AI, Copilot Studio, or GitHub Copilot to enhance testing workflows.
• Experience with Playwright or other modern test automation frameworks.
