Responsibilities:

• The Senior Data Analyst will support a large AML rule migration by analyzing and reconciling outputs between a legacy platform and SAS Viya.
• This role is focused on business reporting and analytical judgment, not quantitative modeling, or algorithm development.
• Executing and validating AML rules in SAS Viya
• Comparing outputs against legacy systems
• Investigating discrepancies down to record-level detail
• Determining whether differences can be resolved or must be documented
• Producing clear documentation explaining variances and logic changes
• Communicating findings to stakeholders in clear, business-friendly language

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of experience in Data Analytics or Business Reporting
• Strong SQL (joins, aggregations, CTEs)
• SAS experience (Base, DATA step, PROC SQL) or strong SQL with ability to adapt to SAS
• Proven experience interpreting results and explaining “why” differences exist
• AML domain experience
• Financial services background
• Payment data experience (preferred):
• Wires
• SWIFT
• Payment data more broadly
• Prior experience with system or rule migrations
• Familiarity with SAS Viya
• Python experience
• Data Load Validation
• Reconciling results at record level
• Identifying and documenting discrepancies (e.g., data availability, date logic changes)
• Refining SAS Viya logic to align as closely as possible with legacy outputs
• Defect identification, root cause analysis support, defect resolution tracking and testing
• Producing final, well-documented reconciliation artifacts
• This is not a coding-heavy role. Sr. Data Analyst must support code development and possess strong SQL skills and Proc SQL (SAS).
