Description

You will facilitate data accessibility and understanding for the state’s education data warehouse to support education agencies and researchers.

Responsibilities

• Create and document data marts and queries to meet business research needs while ensuring data fidelity.
• Reverse engineer schemas and queries to document business rules applied in existing data loading processes.
• Design solutions and detailed specifications using data processing systems, including creating entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs).
• Perform database modeling across logical, physical, and presentation tiers.
• Maintain code in GitHub using version control and log all work and estimates in JIRA.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis or related roles.
• Expert knowledge of databases including SQL Server and Oracle.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PL/SQL.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with enterprise data warehouse structures for analytical reporting.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, isolate causes of data discrepancies, and validate results.
• Knowledge of data privacy requirements when handling sensitive personal information.
• Ability to communicate technical findings in user-friendly language for diverse audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau.
