Description

Build and maintain scalable data applications using the Hadoop ecosystem, Python, and Spark, while owning the full development lifecycle from design to release.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Hadoop ecosystem technologies, Spark, and Python.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring strict adherence to coding standards and SDLC processes.
• Participate in technical design discussions, prepare detailed specifications, and estimate development effort.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and production support; support application deployments and release management.
• Review peer code, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with business and project stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Hadoop, Spark, and Python for data engineering.
• Expertise in SQL, stored procedures, and database optimization.
• Experience with Ab Initio and object-oriented programming principles.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git) and SDLC methodologies.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and manage change control.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Snowflake and enterprise analytics platforms.
• Proven background in data engineering and ETL pipelines.
