Description

You will lead data governance and certification initiatives for enterprise data assets, defining business metadata, critical data elements, ownership, and stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Govern data across Databricks Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers using Medallion Architecture principles.
• Establish and monitor data quality rules, lineage, and source-to-target mappings.
• Leverage Unity Catalog for metadata management, lineage, and data classification.
• Partner with business stakeholders, engineers, and architects to identify trusted data sources and improve quality.
• Facilitate governance workshops and present recommendations to business leaders.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, or Data Stewardship.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Experience with Unity Catalog or comparable data catalog/governance platforms.
• Strong SQL skills with experience analyzing large datasets, data lineage, and source-to-target mappings.
• Experience defining business metadata, data quality rules, stewardship, and critical data elements.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge business and technical teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud data platforms.
• Knowledge of Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows, and SQL Warehouses.
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks (Great Expectations, Soda, Deequ, Informatica Data Quality).
