Description

You will lead data architecture and modelling for a major replatforming project migrating legacy IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems to cloud applications on GCP and/or Azure.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop logical and physical data models for cloud databases including Azure SQL Database, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Spanner.
• Analyze iSeries (AS/400) data structures and create detailed source-to-target mapping documents for migration.
• Define and enforce data standards, normalization rules, and naming conventions aligned with cloud best practices.
• Translate business rules, interpreted with Business Analysts, into defined data models.
• Collaborate with cloud architects to align models with GCP/Azure architecture, including security and scalability.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Data Modelling.
• 3+ years of experience in GCP.
• 6+ years of experience with Erwin, Snowflake, Python, and Azure Synapse.
• Proficiency in Data Modelling principles.
• Experience with cloud database design on Azure SQL Database.
• Experience analyzing iSeries (AS/400) data structures.
• Ability to work with distributed teams.
