Description

You will design and implement data models to support healthcare analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for healthcare subject areas.
• Develop physical models and database objects, collaborating with development and SRE teams.
• Manage schema migration processes to ensure timely delivery of data structures.
• Translate healthcare data and Implementation Guides into entity-relationship models.
• Advise data engineering teams on high-volume data ingestion and transformation pipelines.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data modeling and database management.
• Expertise in creating conceptual, logical, and physical models for healthcare informatics.
• Deep understanding of HL7 FHIR at all levels.
• Experience with MPP and/or columnar database platforms such as Redshift, Azure, or Snowflake.
• 4+ years of experience with traditional OLTP platforms like Postgres or MS SQL Server.
• Proven ability to manage multi-terabyte and high-concurrency workloads.
• Proficiency in defining indexing strategies, triggers, stored procedures, and data partitioning.
• Experience with query profiling, breaking down query plans, and optimizing storage patterns for LOB data.
• Practical knowledge of distribution and clustering key concepts for MPP platforms.

Preferred Skills

• Experience migrating high-volume databases from traditional platforms to modern columnar platforms.
• Familiarity with multi-tenant platforms and CI/CD best practices.
