Description

You will manage the implementation, configuration, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems to ensure high availability for cloud applications.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain database backups to meet business Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
• Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages, including after-hours and weekend support.
• Configure monitoring utilities to track system health and minimize false alarms.
• Optimize performance through hardware reconfiguration, server settings, or index and query changes.
• Automate regular processes, document changes, and assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of MS SQL Server Administration experience.
• Proficiency with Azure SQL and the Azure Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring tools.
• Experience managing backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) using SQL Server Always On.
• Experience working within Windows Server environments.
• Ability to use Profiler traces and other tools to identify frequently run queries.
• Capacity to perform on-call services and support release deployments after hours.
• Strong ability to organize and plan work independently.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator certification.
• Proficiency with PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with Azure Administration.
