Description

You will manage and maintain DB2 on Z/OS environments, ensuring high availability and performance for production systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage database definitions, access controls (Grant/Revoke), and object maintenance.
• Execute daily batch jobs, including REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Monitor DB2 performance, analyze logs, and suggest query tuning to optimize utilization.
• Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure issues and coordinate with application, security, and operations teams.
• Implement disaster recovery plans and lead production data refreshes across subsystems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience administering DB2 on Z/OS.
• Proficiency with DB2 Administration, Log Analysis, Object Comparison, and Query Monitor tools.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 Utilities Suite for backup, recovery, and image copies.
• Strong understanding of Z/OS operating system concepts and commands.
• Experience in 24x7 production support environments with on-call rotation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or foreign equivalent).

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the banking or finance domain.
• Proven ability to mentor and coordinate with offshore teams.
