Description

You will administer and optimize Azure SQL Managed Instance environments, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning for internal applications.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage Azure SQL Managed Instance configurations, including failover groups, Always On availability groups, and SQL listeners.
• Monitor and tune database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource governance.
• Oversee backup, restore, and point-in-time recovery procedures to meet RPO and RTO objectives.
• Lead capacity planning, storage allocation, and cost optimization across the Azure data estate.
• Administer SFTP-based data exchanges with external parties.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of database administration experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Strong experience with the broader Azure ecosystem, including Blob Storage, private endpoints, virtual networks, and security configuration.
• Proven experience managing high-availability solutions.
• Experience administering SFTP-based data exchange.

Preferred Skills

• 10+ years of total working experience in database administration.
