Description

You will own the administration, performance, and architecture of critical database systems.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Perform backup and recovery operations and develop tested policies for database management systems.
• Optimize database access, allocate resources, and tune configurations to meet service level agreements.
• Prototype designs against logical data models and define data repository requirements.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity, and conduct trend analysis for incident prevention.
• Interface with user departments to implement work requests and provide operational support.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration across multiple platforms.
• Expert knowledge of SQL Server database management systems (2012, 2014, 2017, & 2019).
• Expert knowledge in SQL performance tuning and Microsoft GEO-Clustering/Always-On Availability Groups.
• Extensive knowledge of task automation and strong database design/analysis skills.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery operations, database encryption (Always Encrypted, TDE, TLS).
• Familiarity with OS, storage, and network layers for troubleshooting.
• Ability to monitor, tune, and maintain the availability, security, and integrity of databases.
• Required to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting and Automation.
• Knowledge of AWS – RDS SQL and Microsoft Azure RDBMS.
