Description

You will own Azure SQL Managed Instance operations, hybrid migration delivery, and production support for regulated database workloads.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for Azure SQL workloads, including proactive monitoring, incident response, and performance stabilization.
• Execute database migrations from on-premises environments to Azure SQL Managed Instance, ensuring performance parity and successful cutover.
• Implement database security hardening, CyberArk integration, and PHI de-identification to meet audit and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Automate DBA tasks such as backup retention, job history logging, and alert routing to reduce operational noise.
• Validate and test cloud disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity objectives are met.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of senior-level DBA experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server in production.
• Hands-on experience administering and tuning Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Proven experience operating in regulated environments with strong audit and compliance execution.
• Strong expertise in backup/restore strategies, retention policies, and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to support hybrid migrations including cutover and post-migration stabilization.
• Current DP-300: Administering Microsoft Azure SQL Solutions certification.
• Current AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting CyberArk or other privileged access management platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure DR planning, validation, and evidence generation.
