Description

You will manage a Snowflake data warehouse and oversee data replication from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Snowflake environments, including production deployments via dev/ops procedures and environment monitoring.
• Design and implement data models, schemas, and database objects such as tables, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Manage security and access controls for production environments, including integration with Active Directory and SSO.
• Optimize storage efficiency and query performance by reviewing indexing strategies and tuning data pulls.
• Support developers and end-users by providing guidance on data queries and troubleshooting architectural challenges.
• Execute installation, maintenance, and on-call support while participating in unit, system, and performance testing.

Required Skills

• 13+ years of hands-on database experience.
• Extensive experience with DB2, UDB/AIX utilities (backup, reorg, runsstat, rebind), and SQL Server.
• Proficiency with Oracle and MS SQL Server reorg and update stats.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, and Redis.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake data modeling, AWS S3, Glue, and AWS DMS.
• Strong understanding of indexing, query tuning, and data lake architectures.
• Experience working within a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
• Familiarity with version control tools.
• Ability to analyze configurations and recommend hardware or software improvements.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry.
• Experience with data replication.
