Description

You will design and optimize large-scale database schemas and SQL objects to support healthcare informatics and clinical data solutions.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize complex DB schemas and SQL scripts for high-volume environments exceeding 500 million new records daily.
• Perform query and server optimization, including indexing strategies and stored procedure tuning.
• Collaborate with application developers, product teams, and stakeholders to resolve technical data issues and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Implement processes for product development and release to facilitate high-quality, rapid deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and publish technical documentation using internal tools.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL.
• 4+ years of experience coding complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Hands-on development experience with SQL Server 2016 or above, including SSIS and SSRS.
• Expertise in database architecture for high-volume data environments.
• Proven expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and database design.
• Experience with database development methodologies including Source Control, Release Management, Agile, and Scrum.
• Ability to explain database performance tuning internals.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical area; Master’s degree preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with Git and Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, or Bamboo.
• Experience with Red Gate tools (SQL Source Control, SQL Compare, SQL Data Compare, DLM).
