Description

You will spend approximately 30% of your time developing new features and 70% on ongoing maintenance for SAP ASE server modules.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and document various modules within the SAP ASE server.
• Resolve complex in-house and customer-reported problems using advanced diagnostic methods.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to debug, analyze, and resolve technical escalations.
• Develop detailed designs, estimate project effort, and prioritize development tasks.
• Identify architectural improvements and advocate for alternative methods to enhance the current working set.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional experience in database development.
• Expertise in C and C++ programming languages.
• Deep knowledge of database internals or operating system internals.
• Advanced Linux and Unix skills, specifically with multi-threaded architecture and synchronization mechanisms.
• Strong debugging skills and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Experience designing and architecting scalable services using micro-service architecture.
• Proven ability to manage the full product lifecycle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical articulation and customer interaction.

Preferred Skills

• System-level design expertise in OS drivers, file systems, access methods, or query optimization.
• Experience with memory management, concurrency control, and networking.
