Description

You will engineer, maintain, and optimize production database systems, leading migrations from legacy environments to major cloud SQL services.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design relational database models, converting logical schemas into physical implementations.
• Perform performance tuning to optimize database processing speed and efficiency.
• Migrate legacy databases into major cloud SQL services such as Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, or AWS RDS.
• Direct programmers and analysts to implement changes to the database management system.
• Execute security recovery procedures and manage database backup and restoration protocols.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining advanced MS Access databases.
• Expert-level relational database design, normalization, ER modeling, and schema refactoring.
• 10+ years experience with Microsoft Access, including VBA for custom functionalities.
• 8+ years experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, AWS DMS, or equivalent).
• 8+ years experience with RDBMS admin/console tools such as TOAD, SSMS, and/or SQL Developer.
• Proficiency in programming principles, systems design, and database structures.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, and general RDBMS concepts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in computer systems analysis or programming.
