Description

Lead the design, administration, and maintenance of Cassandra databases across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex logical and physical Cassandra database models.
• Manage installation, administration, and maintenance of server-class Cassandra databases.
• Define and implement standards for deployment, security, authentication, authorization, and management policies.
• Develop and execute backup, restoration, monitoring, and alarming strategies.
• Mentor junior staff on database design, performance tuning, and administration.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience implementing and administering Cassandra databases.
• Experience with DataStax Enterprise and DataStax Ops Centre for backup, restoration, and monitoring.
• 4+ years of experience with Shell, Python, or Perl.
• Proficiency with Ansible or equivalent automation tools.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Git, and Jira.
• Understanding of SDLC processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MongoDB or other SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Demonstrated experience with UNIX, Shell Scripting, and high-volume OLTP applications.
• Experience with Agile methodology, Change Management, and Version Control Systems.
