Description

Manage and support mission-critical PostgreSQL and Oracle database environments to ensure 24x7 availability. Administer databases across Unix/Linux environments, focusing on performance tuning and stability. Manage cloud database instances using AWS EC2 and Aurora RDS. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents and performance issues. Execute database tasks including DDL generation, cloning, schema refreshes, and data migrations. Own backup and recovery processes using RMAN and NAS, including Disaster Recovery planning. Develop and maintain OS-level maintenance scripts using Shell, Python, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Administer PostgreSQL and Oracle databases in Unix/Linux environments.
• Manage AWS EC2 and Aurora RDS instances.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents and performance bottlenecks.
• Execute DDL generation, cloning, schema refreshes, and data migrations.
• Own backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery planning using RMAN and NAS.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of IT experience with at least 2 years of dedicated DBA responsibilities.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle database administration.
• Strong operational familiarity with Oracle RAC (11g/12c and above).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically EC2 and Aurora RDS.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as UNIX shell, Python, or Perl.
• Experience with Oracle installation, configuration, and upgrades.
• Understanding of storage technologies including NAS and SAN.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (6AM-3PM, 2PM-11PM, or 10PM-7AM IST).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle replication technologies including Data Guard, Streams, or Golden Gate.
• Background in cloud migrations.
